Media Advisory for Sunday, June 10th - National Chief Phil Fontaine to visit flood threatened communities of Kwantlen and Cheam First Nations in B.C.'s Fraser Valley



    OTTAWA, June 9 /CNW Telbec/ - Assembly of First Nations National Chief
Phil Fontaine, accompanied by Regional Chief Shawn Atleo and Grand Chief
Doug Kelly will visit the Kwantlen First Nation and Cheam First Nation in
northern British Columbia on Sunday, June10th. They are two of potentially 15
First Nations communities at risk of flood damage as the Fraser River reaches
high water levels not seen for over a decade. Media are invited to attend the
community tours as follows:

    Approximately 3PM BC time:

    Community tour/meeting with Chief Marilyn Gabriel and Les Antone,
    Kwantlen First Nation near Fort Langley, BC

    Approximately 5:30PM:

    Community tour/Dinner with Chief Sydney Douglas at Cheam First Nation
    near Rosedale, BC

    The Assembly of First Nations is the national organization representing
First Nations citizens in Canada.
