Media Advisory: Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario Sets Key Deadline for Contract Negotiations



    TORONTO, Jan. 7 /CNW/ - The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario
(ETFO) will hold a news conference on January 8 to announce a critical
deadline for contract negotiations with school boards across Ontario.
    Four-year local collective agreements for all 73,000 elementary teachers
and occasional teachers in Ontario expired on August 31, 2008.
    The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 73,000
elementary public school teachers and education workers across the province
and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
