TORONTO, Aug. 6 /CNW/ - The Police Association of Ontario (PAO)
representing over 33,000 front-line police personnel will be holding their
77th Annual General Meeting in Hamilton from August 10 to 13. Approximately
200 delegates from police associations across Ontario will be attending the
Key issues to be discussed during the week will center on how to ensure
that Ontario communities remain safe.
The opening ceremonies are open to the media and will include a send-off
for a group of young people who will be taking part in a "Kids, Cops &
Canadian Tire" fishing day at the "Safari Lake" located at 771 Safari Road in
Flamborough. The program allows youngsters from across Ontario to learn about

their community. Spokesperson on the "Kids, Cops & Canadian Tire" program Bob
Izumi will be speaking at the opening ceremonies. He will also be attending at
the fishing event with the kids.

program to develop positive relationships between young people and police
personnel through fishing.
The program provides young people with a chance to see police personnel
in a way they may otherwise never experience, while it provides police
personnel with an opportunity to make a difference in a young person's life.
This fishing event is one of over sixty similar events that will take
over 8,000 young people fishing across the province this year.
The media are invited to the fishing event being held from 10:30 am to
2:00 pm where members of the Hamilton Police Association will be taking the
young people fishing.
The remainder of the business meeting will be a closed session. However,
PAO President Larry Molyneaux and PAO Chief Administrative Officer Ron Middel
