This year, as part of YWCA's Week Without Violence, we have joined forces
to present the first Common Ground Conference The Power of Being A
Girl/Respect for Being a Boy conference, as a response to a broadly
acknowledged need to "build common ground" between young women and young men
in Toronto high schools.
With the sponsorship of the Ontario Secondary School Teacher's
Federation, District 12, we have 175 students registered as delegates who have
committed to be ambassadors in their schools and communities when the day-long
interactive conference is over.
