    Kingston library workers to hold info-pickets Wednesday and Friday

    KINGSTON, ON, Sept. 9 /CNW Telbec/ - "We make public libraries work,"
front-line library workers will tell the public at information pickets this
week where they'll seek public support for stronger library services and a
fair collective agreement.
    Librarians, library assistants, technicians, members of the Canadian
Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 2202, will be leafleting passers-by at the
Central Branch on Wednesday and at the Isabel Turner branch on Friday. Both
events will take place from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.

    
    WHO:    Members of CUPE 2202 - librarians, library assistants and
            technicians - and their supporters

    WHAT:   Info-pickets to generate public support for stronger library
            services and a fair collective agreement

    WHEN:   Wednesday, September 10, from 12 noon to 2:00 PM
    WHERE:  Central Branch, 130 Johnson Street

    WHEN:   Friday, September 12, from 12 noon to 2:00 PM
    WHERE:  Isabel Turner Branch, 935 Gardiners Road
    

    Workers will be appealing to the public to contact the Board to express
their support for a fair collective agreement. Their message to the public:
"Tell the Board you want management to reach a fair deal with us. Tell the
Board you don't want our library services diminished."
