Media Advisory - Toronto Students to Celebrate Energy Conservation Week



    TORONTO, May 15 /CNW/ - Students and teachers from St. Pius X Catholic
School in Toronto will celebrate the launch of the Kid's Corner section of the
Energy Conservation Week website at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 19 in the school's
auditorium.
    Kid's Corner seeks to educate young people about electricity and how to
conserve energy at home and school.
    Toronto Blue Jays mascot ACE will lead the Energy Conservation Week
celebrations as St. Pius X students learn about energy conservation and pledge
to conserve electricity in their daily lives.

    Energy Conservation Week is Sunday, May 17th to Saturday, May 23rd. The
entire spring-summer initiative extends to "Count Me In! Challenge Day" on
August 14th. On that date, communities, businesses, organizations of all types
and every Ontarian will be challenged to see who can save the most energy.

    Energy Conservation Week 2009 is a provincewide initiative co-ordinated,
in partnership, by the Ontario Power Authority, The Ontario Ministry of Energy
and Infrastructure, the Independent Electricity System Operator, the
Electricity Distributors Association, Hydro One, the Association of
Municipalities of Ontario and the City of Toronto.
