WHAT: The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation
are teaming up for the Leafs' fourth annual Pink Ribbon Night on Saturday,
October 13 to raise money in support of a future without breast cancer.
Fundraising activities will take place at the game as well as online at
www.mapleleafs.com, with proceeds supporting the Foundation's investments in
breast cancer research and community health projects.
Game: Saturday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins
Air Canada Centre, 40 Bay St., Toronto, Ontario
(northwest corner of Lakeshore Blvd. and Bay St.)
Fundraising and awareness activities will include:
- Foundation volunteers and the Lady Leafs will be offering
pink ribbons to fans in exchange for donations
- The helmets of Leaf players will feature the pink ribbon
symbolizing the breast cancer cause.
Auction: Kicks off on Saturday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at
www.mapleleafs.com, and will feature:
- Game-worn helmets
- Team-signed pink Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys
- Items from on-air personalities
- At least one rare experiential opportunity
Auction will close on Monday, October 22 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
This year alone, the lives of more than 22,000 Canadian women and their
families will be changed by a breast cancer diagnosis. Funds raised through
Pink Ribbon Night will be invested by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in
research and community health projects with the greatest potential to make a
difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
