Media Advisory - Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation Celebrates 3rd Annual Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival



    Wine Experts Robert M. Parker Jr. and Pierre-Antoine Rovani to attend

    TORONTO, Oct. 23 /CNW/ - Two internationally-renowned wine experts,
Robert M. Parker Jr., publisher of The Wine Advocate, and Pierre-Antoine
Rovani, visit Toronto as part of the 3rd Annual Grand Cru Culinary Wine
Festival and will meet with Toronto area journalists at a 30-minute briefing
on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 3:00 pm.
    Parker and Rovani will also help the Toronto General & Western Hospital
Foundation and the Grand Cru Advisory Board with the kick-off of the 3rd
annual Grand Cru Wine Festival in support of research at Toronto General
Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital.
    As part of the festivities, over 60 world acclaimed winemakers will also
be pouring their best wines and approximately 1,500 guests will have an
opportunity to meet the Festival's featured winemakers and sample their
vintages.
    Funds raised from the Grand Cru events support the scope of research
dealing with the complexity of cases at University Health Network which have
made it a national and international source for discovery, education and
patient care. UHN has the largest hospital-based research program in Canada,
with major research in diabetes, transplantation, cardiology, neurosciences,
oncology, surgical innovation, infectious diseases, and genomic medicine.
