TORONTO, March 14 /CNW/ - TDOT, Tobacco Don't Own Toronto, will be
hosting Double Impact, an event consisting of a Spoken Word presentation and a
special screening of Freedom Writers, a Smoke-Free Movie in the afternoon.
Tomorrow, T-DOT is showcasing selected youth talent to perform their poems,
songs, raps and any other creative writing with the slogan "They Don't Own Us"
embedded in their pieces.
The movie Freedom Writers will be featured to highlight that good movies
can be made without including scenes with smoking. Freedom Writers has no
smoking and in line with TDOT's previous initatives to petition the movie
production studios and the actors in selected movies, the group will send
thank you letters to MTV studios for keeping the movie smoke-free.
What: Private screening of Freedom Writers to show youth across
Toronto that great movies can be made without the use of
smoking, and to thank MTV Studios and the stars of the film for
removing smoking in movies. The Spoken Word event will showcase
poetic Toronto youth talent to emphasize TDOT's campaign slogan
"They Don't Own Us".

14-19. The T-DOT group is a part of a larger youth movement across Ontario
