    High tech executives ready to race in popular fundraiser for research
    into early detection of cancer at BC Cancer Agency

    VICTORIA, June 11 /CNW/ - Fourteen high-tech company CEO's have designed
and hand-built a fleet of sleek soap box race cars for the third annual Canary
Derby Soapbox race on Saturday June 14th, to raise funds for the BC Cancer
Foundation for critical cancer research equipment for the Canary Project at
the BC Cancer Agency. The BC Cancer Agency is partnering with U.S.-based
Canary Foundation (www.canaryfoundation.org), which is dedicated to funding
early detection of cancer, on this international cancer research effort.

    
    WHAT:     CEOs from Vancouver Island advanced technology companies
              compete to race soapbox cars to raise funds for BC Cancer
              Foundation in support of the BC Cancer Agency

    WHEN:     Saturday, June 14th, 2008
              11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
              Interviews and photo opportunities with CEOs and BC Cancer
              Agency researchers available throughout the day and 3:00-4:00pm
              during closing ceremonies.

    WHO:
        -  Don Listwin, Founder of Canary Foundation
        -  Dr. Brad Nelson, senior scientist and founding director of BC
           Cancer Agency's Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Center
        -  Vancouver Island technology company CEO's will be available to
           share their race secrets
        -  An anticipated crowd of hundreds of team members, derby
           supporters, BC Cancer Agency, BC Cancer Foundation and Canary
           Foundation staff.

              support of Vancouver Island community members to help fund
              early detection cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency on
