Media advisory - The First Nations of Quebec remember: 10,000 years of existence / 400 years of colonialism



    WENDAKE, QC, Aug. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Next August 9, the Assembly of First
Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL) will be celebrating the International
Day of the World's Indigenous People by organizing various activities to
commemorate the major historical events that marked the history of the
Aboriginal Peoples over the last four hundred years in Quebec.
    Mr. Ghislain Picard, Chief of the AFNQL, Historians Camil Girard and
Denys Delâge, Amnesty International, and various Aboriginal artists (Claude
McKenzie, Marcel Godbout, Samuel Savard, Wendy Moar and Pascal Ottawa) will be
waiting for you.
    The media is invited to attend this special day. Chief Ghislain Picard
will be available for interviews during the activities.
