Media Advisory - The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal welcomes Ministers Lawrence Cannon and Michael M Fortier - "Transportation, infrastructure and Montreal's future"



    MONTREAL, April 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to
attend the Special business luncheon of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan
Montreal on Friday, April 20, 2007, at Hilton Montreal Bonaventure, at noon.
The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and
Communities and the Honourable Michael M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and
Government Services, will be our guest speakers.
    The 2007 budget of the Government of Canada includes an unprecedented
investment of more than $33 billion over seven years in the infrastructure of
cities and communities. This funding will target sectors of vital importance
to Canadians such as public transit, the upgrading and safety of the road
network, water purification and wastewater treatment. The Honourable Lawrence
Cannon will explain the principles that inspired the government's action in
this area and their implications for the development of the metropolis. The
Honourable Michael M Fortier will clarify how these infrastructure investments
will contribute to the economic growth and quality of life in Montreal.
