Media Advisory - Steelworkers to demonstrate at PCS Saskatoon office Thursday 1 p.m.

SASKATOON, SK, July 31 /CNW/ - Members of the United Steelworkers (USW)
and their supporters will hold a demonstration Thursday at 1 p.m. CST at the
Saskatoon office of the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan to draw attention
to PCS's skyrocketing profits pursued at the expense of a fair deal for
members of USW Locals 7458, 189 and 7689.
The union plans to present a petition calling on PCS CEO Bill Doyle to
explain - at a union meeting -- his public comments that USW members should
accept a deal that they find unacceptable.
The demonstration will be at 122 - 1st Ave. South, Saskatoon. It is being
held while both sides continue to meet to resolve the dispute over key issues,
including control over contracting out, pensions, wages, vacation and bonus.
Although PCS is receiving far more profit per worker than most mining
companies, it pays wages lower than many other major Canadian mining
operations.
