Media Advisory - Steelworkers reach tentative agreement with Trenton Works Ltd.

TRENTON, NS, March 15 /CNW/ - United Steelworkers' (USW) Ontario/Atlantic
Director Wayne Fraser announced Thursday that a tentative agreement with
Trenton Works Ltd. has averted a possible strike by members of USW Local 1231.
"No details of the settlement will be released until members have had a
chance to review them," said Fraser, "but we are pleased that we were able to
reach a settlement and a commitment from municipal, provincial and federal
governments to work towards ways to ensure that the company continues its
operations in Trenton."
Members of Local 1231 will review the settlement and hold a ratification
vote on Sunday, March 18 at the community college in Stellarton, NS.
