Media Advisory - Skull, shiny nut or baldy against cancer: the Cops for Cancer Shave-O-Thon to fight cancer takes place this Friday in partnership with the Montreal Alouettes

                         An Invitation to the Media
                   for the 9th Cops for Cancer Shave-O-Thon
                   to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society
                         on Friday, Feb. 13th, 2009
                        from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
        (the event will continue until 2 p.m. for the general public)
                 in the Grande-Place at Complexe Desjardins
                         150 St. Catherine St. West
                                   Montreal

    Camerapersons and photographers are invited to take pictures at the
    Grande-Place:

    - Close to 50 police officers, paramedics, firefighters and civilians
      will have their heads shaved.
    - Etienne Boulay of the Montreal Alouettes and spokesperson for the
      Shave-O-Thon will attend the event to encourage participants and sign
      autographs.
    - Shave-O-Thon participants and a spokesperson for the Canadian Cancer
      Society will be available for media interviews.
    - Attendance prizes will be drawn at random (tickets for the Alouettes).
      A VIP package for an Alouettes game will be attributed to the
      participant who will have raised the most $ for the event.

    Cops for Cancer is a Canadian Cancer Society fund-raising activity where
    men and women police officers, paramedics, firefighters, security agents,
    police students, ambulance attendants and civilians agree to have their
    heads shaved to raise funds for the fight against cancer. During the last
    nine years in Quebec, Cops for Cancer has had huge success. Several
    hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised for the Quebec Division
    of the Canadian Cancer Society.
