Media Advisory - Science, Technology and Innovation Council Presentation on Canada's Innovative Economy to Calgary Chamber of Commerce



    OTTAWA, May 14 /CNW Telbec/ - How does Canada stack up against the
world's most innovating countries? How does Western Canada contribute to our
nation's innovation system?
    Media are invited to join members of the Science, Technology and
Innovation Council (STIC) at an interactive information session with the
Calgary Chamber of Commerce to discuss the findings of Canada's Science
Technology and Innovation System: State of the Nation 2008, STIC's landmark
Report on Canada's science, technology and innovative system.
    The Report benchmarks Canada's innovative performance against more than
50 international and domestic standards of excellence such as research
intensity, commercialization rates, quality of research and workforce skills
and provides a baseline from which to maintain a watch on key indicators and
monitor progress.
