sponsor of the City of Calgary's Fifth Annual Safety Expo and invites all
media to attend Calgary's premium safety exhibition March 5th and 6th. At
ENMAX, safety is priority one and this yearly event is an excellent way to
bring an important message to students, educators and the general public.
Safety Expo features interactive exhibits, workshops and demonstrations
for students in Grades 4-9. This year's theme - Safety 4 All Seasons -
supports regular curriculum learning from the classroom and focuses on
preventing physical, social and emotional injuries at home, school and play
all year round.
Exhibitors provide interactive learning opportunities on safety risks and
best practices, while workshops provide in-depth learning about internet, fire
and water safety, as well as responsible citizenship and the consequences of
As in previous years, Safer Calgary will hold the annual Jim Gray Safer
Calgary Awards March 5th in the Calgary Municipal Building as part of the
Expo. These awards honour community members who make Calgary a safer place.
Individuals, groups, communities and corporations will receive the prestigious
award for their contributions to violence and injury prevention and/or
environmental (natural and engineered) protection.
Approximately 3,500 local students will attend the Expo for free,

Calgary. Safety Expo is organized by a consortium of volunteers from each of
the sponsor organizations, as well as from Ledcor Construction, Calgary Board
of Education, Girl Guides of Canada, Campus Calgary, Think First and Calgary

sharing the Municipal Atrium with twenty-one other exhibitors who share safety
as a core value and who believe education at any age forms great safety habits
