Media Advisory - Residents and Families Look to the Provincial Budget for 'more than a band aid' for Long Term Care

MARKHAM, ON, March 24 /CNW/ - Over the past month more than 50,000
resident, families and their supporters sent a message to their MPP supporting
the Ontario Long Term Care Association's request for increased operating
funding in tomorrow's provincial budget. They told their MPP that long term
care needs more than a band aid commitment that retains existing care levels
or addresses a single issue. Instead, homes need increased funding to add
staff, improve incontinence care, increase resident programs, enhance dietary
services and stem the erosion of housekeeping, maintenance and related
services.
OLTCA Executive Director, Janet Lambert, will be available to comment on
the Budget's response to this message tomorrow following the Budget speech.

    Who: Janet Lambert
