Media Advisory - Requirement for anti-theft devices on vehicles comes into effect



    OTTAWA, Sept. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities will highlight an amendment to
the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations that requires manufacturers to equip all
new cars, vans, light trucks and SUVs with electronic, anti-theft
immobilizers. The amendment came into effect on September 1, 2007.
