OTTAWA, June 12 /CNW Telbec/ - With over 400 MW of installed wind
capacity and more than 1000 MW contracted for development, Ontario is becoming
Canada's wind powerhouse. This two-day conference will focus on issues related
to wind development, permitting, environmental assessments and public
consultation in municipalities in Ontario.
There is also an opportunity to view the generation of clean, renewable
energy close up at the Erie Shores Wind Farm. Its 66 wind turbines generate
99 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 35,000 homes, a successful wind
project in Ontario's first call for renewable power.
