Media Advisory - Quebec Olympians To Tee It Up In Support of Canadian Olympic Foundation



    MONTREAL, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - Two days from today, on Wednesday,
September 19, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) will host the eighth annual
Montreal Golf Tournament, presented by Bell Canada, in support of the Canadian
Olympic Foundation.
    The competition and dinner will feature participation and appearances by
some of Quebec's and Canada's most recognized Olympians including Marc Gagnon
(short track speed skating), Sylvie Fréchette (synchronized swimming), Bruny
Surin (athletics), Jennifer Heil (freestyle skiing), Marie-France Dubreuil and
Patrice Lauzon (figure skating), Emilie Heymans (diving), Nicolas Fontaine
(freestyle skiing), Alexandre Bilodeau (freestyle skiing), Jennifer Button
(swimming), Dominick Gauthier (freestyle skiing), Whynter Lamarre (water
polo), Philippe Laroche (freestyle skiing), Yannick Lupien (swimming), Julie
Mahoney (fencing), Caroline Olivier (freestyle skiing) and Andrew Willows
(canoe/kayak).
    Included in the day's festivities are 18 holes of golf, Olympic-themed
demonstrations, a silent and live auction, and dinner at the Saint-Raphael
Club House Ballroom.

    Time:     The Opening Ceremony featuring athlete introductions is
              scheduled for 10:45 a.m. The shotgun start is set for 11 a.m.
    

    Photo-Ops: Canadian Olympic athletes, COC and sport executives, and on-
    course sport demonstrations featuring fencing, judo, taekwondo, boxing,
    shooting and archery by Canadian Olympic hopefuls.
