Media advisory - Quebec based troops deployed to Afghanistan thank The Blessed Sacrament Sisters

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, June 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are
invited to the Mont Thabor Chapel on Wednesday, June 13, at 1:45 P.M., to take
part in a ceremony recognizing the spiritual and moral support offered by The
Blessed Sacrament Sisters to the troops.
During the ceremony, which will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., a
book containing the names of some 2,500 military personnel from Quebec to be
deployed to Afghanistan this summer will be presented to the nuns by a
delegation of about 30 soldiers, according to tradition. In line with this
tradition, the nuns will commit to praying for the troops and their families.
The support of the nuns will certainly help maintain morale among troops
from Quebec deployed overseas. Their spiritual support will bring comfort to
the troops who will be facing a significant challenge.
In 1953, the Mont Thabor Chapel was dedicated to the memory of the
Canadian troops who fought in the Second World War and to those who served in
subsequent peace missions.

Media representatives who wish to cover the ceremony are welcomed at the
Mont Thabor Chapel, at 1175 Mont Thabor Avenue in Quebec City, on June 13, at
1:45 p.m.
