Special events to be held on May 2 in downtown Toronto to celebrate the launch of the Invictus legacy in Canada
TORONTO, April 22, 2016 /CNW/ - On May 2, 2016, Prince Harry will visit Toronto for the first time in 25 years for the official launch of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017. Special events will be held on May 2 in two centrally-located venues in downtown Toronto to launch these inspiring Games.

Media are invited to attend a high-energy sledge hockey scrimmage with the Canadian national sledge hockey team, with special guests Prince Harry and Invictus Games Team Canada competitors.

About the Invictus Games Toronto 2017
Prince Harry recently announced that the 2017 Invictus Games were awarded to Toronto, Canada. These third Invictus Games, to be held in September 2017, will be the largest yet, with more than 600 military competitors from 16 nations competing in 12 sports.
Invictus Games Toronto 2017 is the Organizing Committee tasked with bringing the Invictus Games to Toronto, Canada in 2017. Founded in August 2015, IG2017 will work to build on the success of the London 2014 and the Orlando 2016 Invictus Games to put on an event that will capture the imaginations of the Canadian public, corporations and governments, as well as soldiers, veterans and their families.
