Media advisory - Press Conference - Kingston hosts major protest



    KINGSTON, ON, Sept. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The Kingston Health Coalition
announces it will hold a mass rally on September 27th in Kingston as part of
major cross-province protest on health care. The coaltion will unveil several
large visual models they will be using in the protest.
    The McGuinty government is forcing major cuts to hospital services and
will be closing or privitizing hospital labs across Ontario. Hospitals, such
as Kingston General Hospital and Hotel Dieu are facing potential service cuts,
likely to be the deepest public service cuts since the Mike Harris government.
Groups from across Southeastern Ontario will be travelling into Kingston for
the protest.
    The Ontario Health Coalition has called for major protests across Ontario
in response to the hospital cuts, broken promise on improving care in nursing
homes, and increasing privatization.
