Media Advisory - Ottawa family wins national contest: Robert Munsch pays them a visit this Saturday

TORONTO, Jan. 12 /CNW/ - On Saturday, January 17, legendary Canadian
children's author Robert Munsch will make a special visit to the Kicknosway
family's Family Literacy Day party in Ottawa. The Kicknosway party is the
winning entry in the fourth annual Munsch at Home contest and was selected
from numerous applications sent in from across Canada.
Munsch will join the family and their friends at Minwaashin Lodge, a
local centre which provides a range of programs and services, including
literacy, to First Nations, Inuit and Metis women and children. The group will
listen to stories and learn Oji Cree words from traditional teachers, such as
the names of animals and how to write their name in Cree syllabics. Everyone
will also enjoy a potluck lunch of traditional moose stew, goose meat, bannock
and three sisters soup. Munsch will then tell a few of his classic stories,
including his most famous - Love you Forever - and then everyone will learn
how to sing the Love you Forever song in Mohawk.
