TORONTO, March 20 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President
Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, will be available following Tuesday's provincial
budget speech for reaction on how the budget impacts front-line registered
nurses and allied health professionals and their patients.
Haslam-Stroud will be in the Legislature for the budget speech and will
be available to the media for reaction immediately afterward.
ONA submitted pre-budget recommendations which included investments to:
address workloads for hospital nurses; ensure the health and safety of nurses;
set minimum standards of long-term care; end the competitive bidding process
for home care services and more.
ONA is the union representing 54,000 registered nurses and allied health
professionals working in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public
health, the community and industry.
