TORONTO, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) is pleased
to announce that three of its members are running for the presidency of the
Canadian Medical Association (CMA). The candidates are:
Dr. Deborah Hellyer (Windsor).
Dr. John Tracey (Brampton).
Dr. Jeff Turnbull (Ottawa).
Every year the CMA president-elect is nominated in a different part of
the country according to a pre-determined rotation cycle involving the 12
provincial/territorial medical associations that form the CMA. For the
2009-2010 term, the President of the CMA will be elected from Ontario. Only
OMA members who are CMA members are eligible to vote.
Election packages were mailed in mid-January and members have until 5pm
on February 26, 2009 to vote electronically or by paper ballot.
