Media Advisory - North Bay sending contingent to massive Sudbury rally to protect public health care



    NORTH BAY, ON, Sept. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - A busload of North Bay workers
will join thousands tomorrow in Sudbury for a rally to protect public health
care.
    The bus, organized by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), will
bring members of CUPE, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and
the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) to one of five mass rallies being
held tomorrow, Saturday, September 27, to protect the public health care
system.

    
              WHAT:    Bus to Sudbury health care rally

              WHEN:    Saturday, September 27, leaving 8:15 AM

              WHERE:   Bus leaves from 180 Sheriff Avenue
    

    Sudbury's rally starts at 11:00 AM at Tom Davies Square
    (Brady & Minto Streets)

    Demonstrators will demand the McGuinty government:

    - Stop the cuts to hospital services
    - Stop public-private partnerships (P3s)
    - Stop home care competitive bidding for good
    - Regulate a minimum care standard in long-term care
    - Stop privatization and two tier extra billing
