OTTAWA, Feb. 21 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Centre for Policy
Alternatives (CCPA) will release the 2008 Alternative Federal Budget (AFB) on

This year's Alternative Federal Budget delivers a socially and fiscally
balanced budget that Canadians can count on - in good times and bad.
Coordinated by the CCPA since 1995, the Alternative Budget is the product
of collaborative deliberations by representatives of a wide spectrum of civil
society organizations. It is widely respected for its sophisticated
macroeconomic analysis and credible fiscal plan.
Among the innovations in this year's AFB: a gender budget analysis; a
poverty reduction plan; a national infrastructure plan; a sectoral development
strategy to address the manufacturing crisis; and a greenhouse gas emissions
reduction plan.
