Media Advisory - NAN Leadership to assemble in Chapleau for XXVIII Keewaywin conference



    THUNDER BAY, ON, Aug. 10 /CNW/ - Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Grand Chief
Stan Beardy will welcome NAN Chiefs, proxies and observers as he makes opening
comments to the XXVIII Keewaywin Conference (Aug. 11-13) in Chapleau.

    National Chief Shawn A-In-Chut Atleo and Ontario Regional Chief Angus
Toulouse will address the conference Tuesday at approximately 2:30 p.m.
    Chiefs and proxies from NAN's 49 First Nation communities will vote in
the NAN election August 12 in Chapleau Cree First Nation (Fox Lake Reserve).

    Nishnawbe Aski Nation is a political territorial organization
representing 49 First Nation communities within James Bay Treaty 9 and Treaty
5 territory - an area covering two-thirds of the province of Ontario.
