It is estimated that 5,000 MW of waterpower could be added to the
province's energy supply by 2025, creating several new job opportunities and
more than $25 billion in direct investment in Ontario. In addition to being a
clean and renewable source of energy, waterpower is highly reliable, and able
to respond to constant changes in electricity demand - instantly, hourly,
daily, and seasonally. Energy Ottawa's Chaudière Falls generating stations are
prime examples of the reliability and flexibility of waterpower: these
facilities are over 100 years old, and have been recently refurbished to
increase their generating capacity to provide more than 125,000 megawatt hours
of green power per year.

This event will be hosted by Energy Ottawa, an affiliate of Hydro Ottawa,
in conjunction with the Ontario Waterpower Association.
