Media Advisory - Minister Blackburn delivers $100,000 in research and development tax credits to Les Enductions Repulpables RETEC Inc.



    MONTREAL, Sept. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - On September 3, 2009, the Honourable
Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of National Revenue and Minister of State
(Agriculture and Agri-Food), will meet with Mr. François Dandenault, President
and CEO of Les Enductions Repulpables RETEC Inc., to personally deliver a
cheque for $100,000 in tax credits for scientific research and experimental
development (SR&ED).
    SR&ED investment tax credits support Tekna Plasma Systems Inc. in the
design, development and construction of integrated plasma systems for a wide
range of laboratory research and industrial-scale materials processing and
surface treatment applications.
    The SR&ED program is a federal tax incentive program administered by the
Canada Revenue Agency, which encourages Canadian businesses of all sizes, and
in all sectors, to conduct research and development in Canada. The SR&ED
program gives claimants cash refunds and/or tax credits for their expenditures
on eligible work done in Canada.
    Minister Blackburn will be available to answer media questions relating
to today's event, as well as the UBS issue.
