Media advisory - Métis Leaders Appalled at Request for Court Intervention by MNC Past President



    SASKATOON, Sept. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Four of the five provincial governing
members of the Métis National Council will hold a news conference today at
5:00 p.m. EDT to respond to a court order being requested by MNC
past-President Clement Chartier and MMF President David Chartrand which would
have the effect of de-railing, indefinitely, the MNC General Assembly for
election of MNC President. The news conference will be held at the following
location:

                           Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

    The four presidents of the MNC governing members attending are:

    - Bruce Dumont, President, Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC)
    - Audrey Poitras, President, Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA);
    - Robert Doucette. President, Métis Nation - Saskatchewan (MN-S);
    - Tony Belcourt, President, Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will attend by
      conference call from the UN Headquarters in New York
