Media Advisory - Media Information for Vancouver 2010 mascot launch



    VANCOUVER, Nov. 19 /CNW/ - The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the
2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) invites the media to cover
the unveiling of the mascots for the 2010 Winter Games. The mascots will be
introduced to an audience of 800 schoolchildren at the Bell Performing Arts
Centre in Surrey, BC on Tuesday, November 27th at 10:30 am PST.

              Media Entrance: Main Entrance to theatre (west side)
              On site media registration and accreditation begins at 9:00 am
    

    Media Details:

    1) Credentials/RSVP

    Media will be assigned individual seating as the media area in the
theatre is limited to 50 seats. It is important that accredited media outlets
RSVP to mediarelations@vancouver2010.com by November 22 to reserve seats.
Journalists will be provided with their seat location when they arrive for the
performance.

    2) Audio/Video Feeds

    VANOC is producing and recording the event with a professional television
crew and will provide the live, five-camera video pool feed for media in
attendance. VANOC has also hired professional photographers and will provide
pool photos immediately following the unveiling. All pool feeds will be made
available in the on site media centre. Television media accessing the feed
will need to bring a recording deck.
    To maintain the integrity of the show and to ensure fire regulations are
respected inside the theatre, cameras will only be permitted inside the
theatre for a limited b-roll recording pre-show and after the show for the
on-stage interview session.

    3) Media Centre

    Media will have access to work stations in the media centre, including
internet, desks, seating phones and refreshments. A live broadcast feed of the
show will also be provided in the media room. The media centre will be located
directly off the theater in the main foyer.

    4) Interviews

    Interview opportunities with VANOC representatives, the mascot artist and
other guests will be available on the main stage upon the conclusion of the
mascot show at approximately 11:10 am.

    5) Parking/Satellite Trucks

    There will be ample parking available at the Centre. Parking will be
reserved for satellite trucks. Please advise VANOC media relations if
satellite truck parking is required.

    VANOC is responsible for the planning, organizing, financing and staging
of the XXI Olympic Winter Games and the X Paralympic Winter Games in 2010. The
2010 Olympic Winter Games will be staged in Vancouver and Whistler from
February 12 to 28, 2010. Vancouver and Whistler will host the Paralympic
Winter Games from March 12 to 21, 2010.
