Media Advisory - Mayor Miller and President of Microsoft Canada expand successful Pro Tech digital media program to three additional priority neighbourhoods



    TORONTO, Aug. 6 /CNW/ - Toronto Mayor David Miller will join Microsoft
Canada(http://www.microsoft.com/en/ca/default.aspx) president Eric Gales and
representatives from the Toronto Public
Library(http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/), Tropicana Community
Services(http://www.tropicanacommunity.org/main/home.html) and Centennial
College(http://www.centennialcollege.ca/) to officially launch the second Pro
Tech Media Centre in Scarborough at the Toronto Public Library -
Kennedy/Eglinton Branch on August 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. This launch event
will also include details about Pro Tech's expansion to Malvern and
Weston-Mount Dennis.
    Pro Tech centres provide free access to state-of-the-art technology
including digital arts and Microsoft curricula to introduce youth to potential
careers in new media while providing computer literacy skills.
    Microsoft Canada and the City of Toronto opened the first Pro Tech Media
Centre in Rexdale in July 2007. You can learn more about this program by
