Media Advisory - "Local Heroes" honoured for creating a better Canada

RBC Celebrates Community Groups with $1.25 million in GTA Donations

TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - To recognize and celebrate "local heroes" in the
GTA, RBC is donating more than $1.25 million to various groups across the
region during RBC's national Community Celebration Week, which runs from June
21-27.
The gifts will support the efforts of various organization and
individuals who do things - big and small - to make a difference. RBC is
recognizing these "local heroes" for helping to create a better future for our
community in their respective areas, from improving children's mental health
services, to supporting emerging artists, to helping youth at risk.
During Community Celebration Week, Canadians are invited to take the time
to recognize and celebrate "local heroes" in our community. All members of the
community are invited to join in Community Celebration Week by recognizing
their own "local heroes" on a Recognition Wall at a local RBC branch or by
making a pledge online to help create a better Canada at
www.rbc.com/carrythetorch.
