Connect-ED(R) Test Call to Be Sent to Thousands of Parents and Staff

announces the availability of the Connect-ED(R) communication messaging
service by Blackboard Connect Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blackboard
Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB), to provide school leaders with the ability to quickly
schedule, send and track messages to tens of thousands of parents, students
and staff. The service enables key officials to send personalized voice
messages to Lester B. Pearson parents, students and staff members' telephones
and text messages to e-mail addresses.
This new time-sensitive mass notification service will play a key role in
board community outreach and response and can be used for other urgent issues
of public interest. The comprehensive communication system is the most
effective way for school officials to quickly communicate across the board, as
well as to specific schools or groups, and notify parents, students and staff
about important information without a single point of failure, traversing
local network congestion.
