OTTAWA, Dec. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Once again, the Holiday Gift Program of
the CAS is under way. This year the agency is expecting over 8,000 thousand
gifts from over 90 organizations, schools, businesses and individuals in the
community. On December 14th, between 8:00-9:00am, over 40 vans - full of over
2,000 toys donated from the Canada Revenue Agency- will arrive at the agency
for toy drop off.
"The Society is very fortunate to have such wonderful and caring friends
in the community who reach out with great generosity to help our children and
their families at this special time of the year," says Carmen G. Munoz,
Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
Over 50 volunteers will receive and distribute the toys at the agency,
which will be given to children in families living with financial difficulty.
The Children's Aid Societies' commitment to protecting children and youth
from all forms of abuse and neglect is well established and long standing.
On any given day, the CAS in Ottawa works with approximately 2000
families in need within the community. The gifts received from the Holiday
Gift Program will be distributed to these families.
