Media Advisory - Innovative new home in Winnipeg starts construction



    WINNIPEG, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - The Urban Ecology project, one of 15 national
winners in the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) EQuilibrium(TM)
Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative competition, will start
construction in the inner-city Centennial neighbourhood on Friday, September
11th.
    The Honourable Steven Fletcher, Minister of State (Democratic Reform),
will represent the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and
Skills Development and Minister Responsible for CMHC, at the groundbreaking
and will be joined by Doug Martindale, Member of the Legislative Assembly
(MLA) for Burrows, on behalf of the Honourable Gord Mackintosh, Minister of
Family Services and Housing and minister responsible for persons with
disabilities for the Province of Manitoba , City Councillor Jeff Browaty
representing Mayor Sam Katz and the City of Winnipeg, and project team lead
Menno Peters from Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation (WHRC).
