BACK TO SCHOOL ANYWHERE, ANYTIME:
TORONTO, Nov. 7 /CNW/ - The ILC's graduating class of 2007 - ages 19 to
59 - attain their high school diplomas or equivalency certificates
Who: TVO's Independent Learning Centre (ILC)
What: ILC's adult students from across Ontario celebrate their
achievement at the annual Graduation and GED Awards Ceremony.
Journalists are invited to attend (RSVP).
When: Saturday November 10, 2007
3 to 6 pm
Ceremony begins at 3:15 pm
Where: The Royal Ontario Museum
100 Queen's Park, Toronto
Why: To honour adult Ontarians of varying backgrounds and
circumstances who have obtained their high school diplomas through distance
education, and those who have passed the General Educational Development (GED)
test to earn a high school equivalency certificate. Both the high school
diploma and GED are offered by TVO's Independent Learning Centre.
Interviews are available following the graduation ceremony.
TVO's Independent Learning Centre provides distance education in English
and French for Ontario residents. ILC's unique blended learning model and
suite of resources, including GED testing and free tutoring, enable students
to earn a high school diploma, upgrade their skills, and achieve their
academic and career goals at a pace, time, and place of their choosing.
