Media Advisory - Immigrant-Rights Activist Uzma Shakir to be Awarded Atkinson Fellowship



    TORONTO, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - Uzma Shakir will be awarded the Atkinson
Foundation's Economic Justice Fellowship at a ceremony this Friday in Toronto.
Ms. Shakir is a highly respected advocate for Ontario's newcomer communities
and an authority on today's immigrant experience. The Award will support
Ms. Shakir's speaking, writing and animating on issues of social inclusion and
the future of multiculturalism in Canada.
