Media Advisory - Hundreds of pounds of food will be donated by dozens of willing hands as TELUS Day of Service comes to Kelowna

TELUS team members in Kelowna reach out in their community to make a
    difference

KELOWNA, BC, Sept. 27 /CNW/ - On Saturday, September 29, The Kelowna
Community Food Bank will welcome TELUS volunteers carrying hundreds of food
donations to fill empty shelves. The Food Bank, feeding 30,000 hungry families
annually, will receive these needed hands and donations to help stock the Food
Bank the weekend before Thanksgiving, one of their busiest times of the year.
The Kelowna Food Bank is part of the second annual TELUS Day of Service,
a day for TELUS team members to give where they live. More than 6,000 TELUS
team members, including employees, alumni, family and friends, will
participate in hundreds of volunteer activities. Team members across the
country will use their time and talents on September 29 to participate in
projects focused on the environment, youth and helping those less fortunate.
The Food Bank is one of many projects the TELUS team will participate in
across Kelowna including the Adopt-a-Road clean up project and "Cleaning for
Cuddles" with the SPCA.
