Media Advisory - How to make the homes of seniors safe: Home makeover can help seniors live in their homes longer

TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - Bruce Mahony of Home Instead Senior Care in
Toronto, which provides home care services for seniors, will host a home
safety demonstration on Wednesday, August 13 at 2:15 p.m. The event will take
place at the Fellowship Towers Retirement Community, 877 Yonge St (Yonge St.,
north of Bloor St). Joan Sinon of Home Instead Senior Care will speak on how
seniors can create safe spaces, demonstrate various devices that can assist
seniors, and describe what installations can be added to ensure the person's
well-being.
Today many seniors live in constant danger because their homes are not
adequately equipped for people with special needs. "A home that is comfortable
and familiar to a senior can be a danger to their health, but it isn't
difficult to make the homes of seniors safe," says Mahony. "All you have to do
is pay attention to some specifics."
