Media Advisory - Hon. Jim Prentice, Hon. John McCallum, and representatives from NDP, BQ and Green to advance party business platforms at joint Canadian Chamber / FCCQ Annual Meeting October 4



    OTTAWA, Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Over 500 business delegates from across
Canada will meet on Saturday and Sunday (October 4 and 5) to discuss the state
of the Canadian economy and issues relating to competitiveness, at the joint
Canadian Chamber of Commerce / Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec
Annual Meeting in Québec City. The theme for the AGM is "Prosperity without
Borders".
    On Saturday, October 4, representatives from the federal political
parties have the opportunity to present their business platforms to the over
500 delegates from across Canada, followed by a Q&A with delegates. The
representatives are:

    
    - Liberal Party of Canada: Hon. John McCallum, M.P. - Markham-Unionville
    - Conservative Party of Canada: Hon. Jim Prentice
    - Bloc Québecois: Paul Crête, M.P. - Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-
      Rivière-du-Loup
    - Green Party of Canada: Gary Caldwell - Compton-Stanstead
    - NDP: Guy Caron - Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques
    

    Following the session with the parties will be the release of results
from a new survey on Canadian competitiveness conducted by Harris / Decima on
behalf of the Canadian Chamber and the FCCQ. Bruce Anderson, Chairman and CEO
of Harris / Decima, will be presenting the results and available for
interviews.
