Media Advisory - GTA Commuter Behavior Study For Transport Canada to be released Tomorrow

    TORONTO, Jan. 30 /CNW/ -

    DATE:     Wednesday, January 31, 2007
    -----
    TIME:     10:30 A.M. - Noon
    -----
    PLACE: Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) Carpool Lot at
    ------ Highway 400 and Major MacKenzie Drive (southwest quadrant of
              highway clover leaf.)

    Funded by Transport Canada, Living Green and SuiteWorks Inc., the GTA
Commuter Behavior Study reveals concern for the environment, high stress
levels, frustrations over lost family time and much more.

    Among the highlights:
        - Most think about the environment, worry about the Greenhouse Gas
           emissions they are adding to the atmosphere and many are taking
           action;
        - A majority of long-distance commuters think about quitting their
           jobs to work closer to home;
        - Commuters are unaware of the true financial cost and spend two or
           three times more money commuting than they actually think.

    The media are invited to join us at the Ministry of Transportation
carpool parking lot on the south side of Major MacKenzie Dr. just west of
Highway 400 and across from Paramount Canada's Wonderland. (Follow the signs
and look for the tent.) Although the event will be inside the heated tent,
guests are advised to wear appropriate winter clothes. Refreshments will be
served.
    On hand will be commuters to discuss their experiences and authors of the
study.
