Media Advisory - Grand River Transit drivers and service personnel vote to strike



    KITCHENER, ON, Jan. 21 /CNW/ - CAW workers at Grand River Transit in the
Regional Municipality of Waterloo have voted overwhelmingly in favour of going
on strike if necessary, in order to reach a settlement with the Region.
    CAW Local 4304 represents more than 400 transit drivers, and service
personnel, who voted 99 per cent in favour of strike action at a meeting held
yesterday.
    Negotiations between the two sides have been going on for over a month.
The current collective agreement expired December 31, 2007.
    Bargaining is scheduled to continue until February 11, 2008.
