Media Advisory - Free performances at Yonge-Dundas Square for World Refugee Day



    TORONTO, June 12 /CNW Telbec/ - On Wednesday June 20, the UN Refugee
Agency (UNHCR) with the support of Amnesty International Canada, Canadian Red
Cross, COSTI Immigrant Services, Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, Right
To Play and World Vision Reception Centre, will hold a jam packed
entertainment event to celebrate World Refugee Day.
    Farley Flex, Canadian Idol Judge will emcee the event that will feature a
talented line-up of artists including Donné Robert, Belinda Brady, Kemer
Yousef, Marcelo Puente, Carlos Music, the Omo dance company, dance troupes of
recently arrived refugees from Afghanistan and Myanmar and many more special
performances.
    Toronto Mayor David Miller and world renowned physicist and humanitarian
advocate, Dr. Ursula Franklin will open the event.
