Media advisory - FPAC President to Present at BC Forum/FPAC Summer Symposium 2007



    OTTAWA, June 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Avrim Lazar, President and CEO of the
Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) will speak at the Summer 2007
Symposium: Forest Sector Competitiveness: Finding a Pathway to Renewal, on
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
    Mr. Lazar will speak to the industry's competitiveness in the new global
economy and share key findings and recommendations from Forest Products
Industry Competitiveness Task Force Report. He will highlight the need for the
industry to get its costs right, get industry structure right and get the
future right in order to realize the emerging opportunities in the global
forest and paper industry. These opportunities offer a sustainable means of
revitalizing one of Canada's most important industrial sectors which is of
special importance to the self-sufficiency and economic well-being of hundreds
of communities across rural Canada.
