WENDAKE, QC, June 4 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL) is organizing a First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Open House event, on next June 19th, in Trois-Rivières, within the scope of the National Aboriginal Day.
This third edition of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Open House event, which is intended as an interactive and convivial activity, is a reminder of the desire of the AFNQL to establish links with organizations of the civil society, the private enterprise as well as with the circles adjoining the communities of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador.
The invited participants will have the opportunity to hear speakers who will help raise their awareness on the issues and the perspectives of the First Nations. Explanations will also be provided on the process of affirmation on the sovereignty of the First Nations. A virtual visit of four communities will be provided as well.
The media are invited to attend this special day. The Chief of the AFNQL, Mr. Ghislain Picard, will be on hand during the activity, for one-to-one interviews.
