CORNWALL, ON, Feb. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Parties with standing at the
Cornwall Public Inquiry will be making both Phase 1 and Phase 2 oral and
written submissions later this month.
Dates set aside for Phase 1 oral submissions by parties will be Feb. 23,
24, 25 and 26, 2009, beginning at 9:30 daily. Written submissions by the
parties will be made public on Feb. 23, by having them posted on the Inquiry's
website at www.cornwallinquiry.ca An executive summary of each submission
consisting of no more than 10 pages will also be posted to facilitate public
Feb. 27, has been reserved for oral submission for Phase 2, starting at
9:30 a.m. Phase 2 of the Inquiry focuses on healing and reconciliation for the
Cornwall community. Written submissions on Phase 2 will be made public on Feb.
24, again, being posted on the Inquiry's website. Executive summaries of up to
10 pages are also required and will be posted.
In order for the public to view submissions, they will be broadcast via
the Inquiry's webcast. The public may also attend the submissions sessions.
Simultaneous translation will be in place.
While Phase 1 submissions are limited to the parties, the public has an
opportunity to make Phase 2 written submissions, which will inform the
Commissioner's deliberations in developing Phase 1 recommendations. The
written submissions are to be provided to the Inquiry, in writing, no later
